The children’s health truck was created by the McDonald’s children’s charity in cooperation with the City of Essen and the German Children’s Aid Association. The declared goal is to actively improve children’s health!
The new health truck is already the children’s aid organisation’s second vehicle. Key components compared to the first vehicle: anyone with a car driving licence can manoeuvre the mobile advice truck; it should be able to find somewhere to park almost anywhere – in narrow streets in front of children’s nurseries, schools and youth centres, and so on. It makes sense that something like this should be no problem for our nippy, agile CityStar! Within its 12 square metres of space, we have not only built a small doctor’s surgery for the children’s aid organisation, but we’ve also created a kitchenette and a cosy and inviting seating corner. The water supply for no fewer than three washbasins has also been taken care of.
The children’s health truck travels around north Essen and Duisburg, where a team of social educators and volunteer doctors offer hearing and sight tests as well as social advice.
